In 1958, the Essene Press in Texas published an intriguing little book titled “UFO Confidential: The Meaning Behind the Closest-Kept Secrets of All Time.”
Authors George Hunt Williamson and John McCoy were closely involved with the UFO phenomenon in the 1950s. Williamson was a pioneering UFO researcher and one of the “four guys named George” among the famous contactees of the 1950s. The others are George Adamski, George King, and George Van Tessel.

Williamson “witnessed” George Adamski’s historic encounter with an extraterrestrial from Venus on November 20, 1952. He received messages from “Cosmic Intelligence” via radio telegraphy as well as a Ouija board. He is the author of several books – “Flying Saucers”, “Other Tongues-Other Flesh”, “Road in the Sky”, “Secret Places of the Lion” and “The Saucers Speak”.
He developed many of the themes of modern UFO theories and first presented what is now called the Ancient Astronaut Theory. In his article Tracks in the Desert, independent researcher Alec Heidel says Williamson wrote “the most remarkable UFO papers ever produced.”
Heidel points out that George Hunt Williamson was a prolific writer on the subject of contact with extraterrestrial intelligence.
He also writes:
“It would be a huge mistake to classify him as just a UFO researcher. He is primarily an occultist whose activities helped usher in a new magical aeon – the Flying Saucer aeon. No attempt can be made to understand him or his work unless this fact is first considered.”
George Hunt Williamson and John McCoy believe that the reason governments refuse to recognize UFOs and visitors from other worlds is due to the machinations of the Hidden Empire of International Bankers.
As they explain in “UFO Confidential: The Meaning Behind the Best-Kept Secrets of All Time”:
“Many people ask the inevitable question: ‘If there are visitors from other worlds here, why didn’t our government inform us of such an important event?’
The reason is obvious … all governments, yes, all are under the complete control of the “international bankers” who control all the money and thus create depressions and prosperity whenever they want. They want and need a divided world so that the wars can continue and their wealth can steadily increase.”
According to Williamson and McCoy:
“These secret world rulers will never allow official UFO reports to be made public. If they allowed it, it would spell their doom.
If space visitor technology is revealed, it will immediately eliminate the need for oil, gas, automobiles, and virtually everything else that drains the public…”
Although written more than 50 years ago and reflecting the widespread anxieties of the post-World War II era, many of the ideas set forth in UFO Confidential: The Meaning Behind the Best-Kept Secrets of All Time are still relevant today. All this is explained in the chapter entitled “The Drama of Earth’s Great Delusion.”
Surprisingly, it’s not too hard to see a few parallels between life in the 1950s, when the book first appeared, and our own time. Then, in the Cold War era, the subversive “enemy” of the so-called “free world” was Soviet Communism.
Today, the Cold War is a dim memory and we are told that a global “War on Terror” is necessary to protect “freedom.” In the 21st century, for example, al-Qaeda and “terrorism” have replaced the Soviet Union and communism as the “enemies of freedom.”
In the chapter “The Drama of Earth’s Great Delusion,” John McCoy asks the question, “If you wanted to absolutely control a world, how would you do it?”
In another of his books, Other Tongues-Other Flesh, George Hunt Williamson discusses the role of the Hidden Empire in keeping information from the public about extraterrestrial intelligence. He again poses the frequently asked question: “Why aren’t the ‘powers that be’ announcing what they know about ‘flying saucers’?”
Williamson writes:
“If they acknowledge their extraterrestrial origin, that would mean they must also acknowledge the existence of extraterrestrial intelligent beings.
There would be alien interference in the established government, and no world power would welcome such a situation. If the Universal Truth is revealed to the people of Earth, their schemes and plans for humanity will fall apart. They will no longer be able to exploit the masses.”
George Hunt Williamson was truly a man ahead of his time. In his books, he discusses everything from the nature of life on Earth, the mysteries of the Maya, environmental collapse and the secret plan for global governance, to the identity of UFOs and the dawn of the New Age of Aquarius.
More than fifty years ago, Williamson received the following astonishing message from a higher intelligence:
“The United Nations must collapse because what Nostradamus wrote is true. The warlords, the “international bankers” will use the UN to form their super-government.
There are no powers of Christ in the United Nations. That doesn’t mean there aren’t good people at the UN. But the organization itself is a center using gullible people.
She is being controlled by demons and it has to stop. The Master said and it is written in Corinthians by our beloved Paul, “All forms of authority and power must be done away with before I come.” And the UN fits into that category.
Everyone wants a New Age, but they want it to be an American New Age, or a British New Age, or a Communist New Age. I say all forms of government will collapse.
Every seat of government will fall completely. Every economic system will be abolished. All forms of power that are under the direct guidance and tutelage of the Black Dragon will perish.”
As for his native United States of America, Williamson is warned:
“I speak strongly because I feel strongly. I am outraged by the whole situation that is happening in the United States of America… What is this statement that the USA will be spared? The United States will be submerged … The United States is the center of the darkest forces on planet Earth.”
These communications were published in 1958 by Neville Spearman Ltd under the title The Secret of the Andes. The London publishers obtained the original manuscript from South America, where George Hunt Williamson was then living in the monastery of the Brotherhood of the Seven Rays in Peru.
Due to its highly controversial nature, Neville Spearman edited about a quarter of the manuscript. The revelations were apparently too startling to appear in print at the time.
Renowned parapsychologist Andrija Puharich, best known for promoting the Israeli psychic Uri Geller, has a chance meeting in Mexico with one of George Hunt Williamson’s collaborators, Dr. Charles Laughhead. Laughhead describes Williamson as “a very good voice channel or medium” who “has often communicated for more than a year with one of the ancient mystery schools of South America.”
Dr Laughhead says:
“These sessions cover a wide range of topics, from ancient history and the origins of life on this planet, to science and religion. This Brotherhood also has a communications center for intelligence contacts on other planets, star systems, and spaceships.
Some of these intelligences are clearly not human… Their knowledge and wisdom far exceeds our understanding. For simplicity we called them space beings or space brothers…”
George Hunt Williamson continued to travel on expeditions to many parts of the world, conducting his research largely in private and out of the public eye. He reportedly died in California in 1986, aged 60.
Journalist Sean Casteel notes:
“He was among the first to connect all these dots and present us with a credible picture of the chariots of the gods in action.”
Alec Heidel identified Williamson as one of the small group of men from whom “modern UFO knowledge grew and was shaped.”
