So you can imagine how surprised many were to learn that he had discovered additional evidence of a mystery light beam detected by NASA’s Curiosity Rover.
NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s Doug Ellison disagrees, claiming that this was not a case of aliens or anything like that, but rather a cosmic ray striking Curiosity, nothing more and nothing less.
Scott replied by claiming that if this had been a cosmic ray, the rover would have been destroyed and rendered inoperable, but as we all know, the rover is still alive and well, circling the Kimberly outcropping as we speak.
He also addressed the ideas that claim that’s merely a trick of the light, claiming that the fact that the light is flat on the ground is evidence enough that it landed.
What are your thoughts? Is this a good find or a blunder, in your opinion?
